The pilot workshops of the GAMEDIA project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union, concluded successfully in Italy. Managed by the Italian partner CEIPES ETS, the workshops brought together a group of enthusiastic young people aged between 15 and 17 from the linguistic high school “Ninni Cassarà”, in Palermo. The focus was on raising awareness about fake news, disinformation, and how to identify them effectively.

During the workshops, the participants tested an innovative board game designed to engage and educate them on the critical issue of media literacy. The game challenged players to navigate scenarios involving fake news, providing them with valuable insights into recognizing unreliable sources and understanding the impact of disinformation.

The sessions fostered lively discussions and provided the young participants with practical tools to critically evaluate the information they encounter daily. The feedback from the students was very positive, with many expressing that they now feel better equipped to identify and question misleading content.

The conclusion of these pilot workshops marks an important step in the GAMEDIA project, which aims to empower youth across Europe with the skills needed to navigate the complex digital landscape. The results from the pilot will inform the future development of the project, ensuring its continued relevance and impact in promoting media literacy.
